A 3 year old boy!
We said, "Yes yes yes!" and are just waiting to hear back from the agency today.
Our caseworker said, "This is more of a permanent placement." (Not sure what that means? But we are open to whatever )
As always, any tips on what to "prepare" in the event we get a 3 year old boy, would be appreciated!
We have a TON of toddler boy clothes that I've gotten from Goodwill (although I bought most of it in the Winter! Ha). I have several toddler toys. I have bath time stuff (baby bath bubbles, shampoo, the anti skid mat). Last week I bought one of those night time star projecting with music toy things, and it puts stars on the ceiling (really relaxing!) and plays music at bedtime for thirty minutes.
We have a carseat. We have a big boy bed, but he is closer to 4 than he is 3 so I don't think that will be an issue. We do not have a stroller because I wanted to wait to see the age/size of the child before purchasing one. We have lots of kids books. My mom got us "foster care" kids books for Christmas, too, so we have those as well. They're sweet stories about children in foster care or even stories that are related to a similar situation (i.e. a puppy that has three homes!) which are cute.
I have pull-ups and diapers, at least enough to get started. Don't know if he is potty trained, but asked last night and should find out today. I have several pairs of toddler boys sneakers, which were donated to us.
What I DONT have is food. That's something you can't really prepare for!
Any suggestions for ways to prepare? (Not getting my hopes up because this is about the fifth yes we've agreed to!) I know it doesn't "happen until it happens." I think it could be so great if this one works out because it seems like the child is a perfect match for us.
